Reef updates two-year old Rambo game with free DLC

Players of Rambo: The Video Game, should any remain, will be delighted to know that Reef has released some surprise DLC for the title.

The curious on-rails shooter arrived on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in early 2014 at a time when many punters’ attentions had already turned to PS4 and Xbox One. Nonetheless, DLC add-on ‘Baker Team’ is available today in Europe and the US across all three platforms.

The content offers an original story with three new missions. As per the blurb: Rambo leads the Baker Team and joins Barry, Messner and Danforth on a covert mission deep into territory with high Viet Cong activity.”

Our favourite bit from the notes is definitely this: UPGRADE YOUR RAMBO TO LEVEL 25 – Unlock all skill points and create the ultimate Rambo!” There’s also a new, harder difficulty setting brilliantly named simply ‘John Rambo’, and five new weapons and perks.

Rambo: The Video Game didn’t fare well with critics, but you have to applaud free content drops for older games regardless of the context.
