Retailers cancelling Destiny Limited Edition pre-orders

It’s not just the Ghost Edition of Destiny that is in short supply.

VG247 reports that two retailers in the US – Walmart and Best Buy – have been contacting some customers who had pre-ordered the Limited Edition version of the game to say that they will be unable to fulfil the order.

An email from Best Buy says the popularity of the Limited Edition has exceeded the quantities made available” to it. It is offering unlucky customers a not insignificant $50 discount against the Digital Guardian Edition of the game, which as the name suggests is a download product.

The Ghost Edition of the game is already attracting crazy prices on eBay due to its scarcity.

Destiny will be released on PS4 and Xbox One on September 9th.
