Sega and Transformers licences collide for console-themed Megatron

Japanese powerhouses Sega and Takara Tomy have merged for the kill to produce a Transformers console spin-off.

As reported by Tformers, an upcoming limited edition Megatron figure shuns the Decepticon leader’s traditional gun/tank alt mode and instead sees him transform into a Sega Mega Drive, complete with crimson Japanese-style trim.

Obviously it’s not a functioning console. And the bot mode can probably best be described as questionable”. There also appears to be some sort of USB connection involved although in what capacity is impossible to say.

There’s no word yet on the price or release date – but you can be almost certain that it will never see an official release outside of Asia.

So when do they announce an Optimus Prime that transforms into a SNES?
