Sex scene leads to second Darkness II classification Down Under

An interesting anomaly on the Australian Classification Board web site had The Darkness II classified in JulyandDecember.

When the July classification occured, the game was still set for an October release, but a version listed as ‘modified’ was classified again in December. Both classifications carry an MA15+ rating.

The July classification included the consumer advice ‘Strong horror violence, blood and gore and coarse language’, while the December classification also included advice for ‘sex scenes’.

A 2K spokesperson has confirmed that in between the submission to the ACB in July and a new build of the game from later in the year, a new sex scene was included which was then voluntarily resubmitted for classification in case it changed the rating.

The scene passed the ACB with no edits required.
