Sierra gets The Spiderwick Chronicles license

Sierra Entertainment, an arm of Vivendi Games, will release The Spiderwick Chronicles – a title based on the series of books and upcoming film of the same name.

The plot follows twin brothers Jared and Simon and their sister Mallory Grace – all of which will have distinct abilities during game play – as they enter a supernatural world.

It will be released on the Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation2, DS and PC in February 2008.

The Spiderwick Chronicles videogame will authentically recreate the world of Jared, Simon and Mallory Grace, putting gamers in their shoes as they discover a hidden world of fantastical creatures – sprites, ogres, goblins, brownies and more. Fans of the Spiderwick books now not only have the movie to look forward to, but will be able to live in their favorite fantasy world in this adventure filled game.”
