Sony to launch PlayStation Mobile in October

PlayStation Mobile is set for launch on October 3rd, with about 30 games available for download on the PlayStation Store.

Sony’s push into the mobile market will bring "Playstation style gaming" to Android devices, and the games are also compatible with the Vita handheld console.

Playstation Mobile will be available on PlayStation Certified devices in Japan, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Australia at launch, with more nations to follow.

Games are priced from a few cents to about ten dollars.

The PlayStation Mobile SDK meanwhile will be available to developers in 11 different regions in November, appearing in a phased manner to Japan, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

The license agreement will cost developers $99 per year.
