Square Enix signs mobile game KooZac

Popular online puzzle game KooZac will be released for iOS and Android devices this quarter by Square Enix.

The award-winning puzzle title was created by Ben Cusack, who has now joined the publisher as head of mobile.

KooZac has already been played more than 15 million times online and won Channel 4’s Best International Interactive Viral award. It has also received strong reviews from the press, with the BBC describing it as "the ultimate in brain training".

The game is currently listed as a Q1 2012 release, but Square Enix claims it will arrive on smartphones and tablets "soon".

"It’s hugely exciting to know the new version has the publishing and marketing support of Square Enix behind it," said Cusack. "On a personal and professional level I look forward to taking KooZac to a much wider audience via the forthcoming smartphone and tablet versions."
