European CEO and president sees Budget address as 'a big step forward'

Square Enix: Tax breaks will stimulate growth

The CEO and president of Square Enix Europe has expressed his belief that the UK tax breaks announced today will prompt greater investment in the country’s games industry.

“This is great recognition for the video game industry and a big step forwards for games development in the UK," said Rogers

"We know we have some of the world’s leading talent in this country and this commitment from the government should help to stimulate further investment and opportunities here.

"Over the past few years a lot of people have put a lot of work into getting this result, and it’s great to see that effort starting to pay off."

Today’s UK Budget revealed a Government plan to instigate tax breaks for games developers; something collectively campaigned for by numerous bodies and companies accross the UK industry.
