Bodycount creative director to leave before project is completed

Stuart Black to quit Codemasters

Stuart Black, the often outspoken creative director at Codemasters, has made the surprise decision to leave the publisher in a matter of weeks.

News site Eurogamer, which revealed Black’s departure, suggested that the decision is the result of "post-E3 fallout".

The news comes after it emerges that Tom Gillo, Bodycount executive producer, has already left the group.

Black, having been at Codemasters for some three years, is now wrapping up work on the Bodycount FPS project before leaving in October. The game was pencilled in for a Q1 2011 release.

"Having created a great vision and direction for Bodycount, Stuart Black has decided to move on after three years with us,” read a Codemasters statement.

“He will see out his design role until October and, through the transition period, will continue to work with the talented development team that will take the game through to completion.”
