TGS: Halo 3 Recon unveiled

Microsoft has unveiled a new chapter in the Halo franchise set for touchdown in autumn ’09, entitled Halo 3: Recon.

The Bungie-developed title, which has for weeks been teased on Bungie’s official website (courting a little controversy in the process) will take the form of a standalone expansion set before the events of Halo 3. Players will take charge of a UNSC Marine.

Meanwhile, the Ensemble-developed RTS Halo Wars was also pencilled in for early 2009.

Halo 3: Recon was described as a new chapter in the Halo saga that lets gamers experience events leading up to the epic story told in Halo 3 through the eyes of a new hero in the Halo universe” and promises hours of new campaign excursions and multiplayer gameplay”.
