The Beatles game dated

The official game of The Beatles’ music will be released on September 9th, following an agreement between Apple Corps, MTV and Harmonix.

The Beatles: Rock Band will release simultaneously on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii in North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other territories.

In the US, the game will be sold as bundle and solus SKUs.

The software-only version will retail for $60, whilst standalone guitars will sell for $100. The full bundle will sell for $250 across all versions. Pricing outside the US will be announced at a later date.

As with other Rock Band games, the title will feature guitar, drum and microphone controllers. But there will also be more instruments ‘modeled on those used by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr’, according to an official release.

Instruments from previous versions of Rock Band will be compatible with the Beatles game, along with ‘other current music-based videogame peripherals’.

The release represents the first time that The Beatles music has been used in a video game.
