Ubisoft makes more money per Xbox One user than PS4 user

Global sales of the PS4 may well be far ahead of Xbox One, but today’s Ubisoft financial report reveals that Microsoft users are spending more.

VentureBeat reports that for every $1 spent by the average PS4 owner on Ubisoft products in Q3, Xbox One owners spent $1.25. This higher average revenue per player (ARPU) points to a higher attach rate for Xbox One.

The site also points out that while PS4 has sold 89 per cent more units than Xbox One, Sony’s console only made 51.8 per cent more sales for Ubisoft.

Note, however, that 41 per cent of Ubisoft’s Q3 sales came from PS4 compared to 27 per cent from Xbox One. These were followed by PC (12 per cent), Wii (six per cent) and Xbox 360 (four per cent). The remaining ten per cent comprised total sales of all other platforms including Wii U, PS3 and mobile.
