Ubisoft seizes 21% market share on Kinect

Ubisoft has conquered 21 per cent of the Kinect market in Europe.

According the firm’s third quarter financials for the three months ended December 31st, 2010, titles such as Your Shape: Fitness Evolved mean Ubisoft accounts for more than one fifth of the motion controller’s games sales.

The company’s European market share on Kinect is slightly ahead of that of the US, which came in at 18 per cent.

The announcement mirrors claims the publisher made to MCV last month, when Ubi said it was the No.1 third-party publisher on Kinect.

We have already proven that we seize opportunities offered by new hardware with the Wii and the DS, and we are further proving it with the recently-launched Kinect, which has met with outstanding success thanks to its revolutionary interface,” said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.
