VIDEO: Modern remake of Wonder Boy 3 incoming

A full remake of Sega’s Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon’s Trap is in development.

The title is being made by French developer Lizardcube, with DotEmu handling publishing duties. Series creator Ryuichi Nishizawa is on board with the title.

The final release drops the number from the title; it will be called Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap. The original was released for the Sega Master System in 1989 and the Game Gear in 1992.

Lizardcube was founded by Omar Cornut and Ben Fiquet. Cornut has previously worked at Media Molecule on Tearaway and aspects of Dreams, as well as Q-Games’ Pixeljunk Shooter and Wild.
