Vita midnight openings announced

The flagship GAME and GameStation stores will hold midnight events for PlayStation Vita.

GAME Oxford Street is the official UK midnight launch, and will feature meet and greets with WipEout 2048 developers Karl Jones and Ami Ledger (who will be on hand to sign copies of the games).

Fans will also receive invitations to the after-party at the PlayStation Vita rooms at 80 Oxford Street, where gamers can enjoy DJ sets, refreshments and more.

The PS Vita Mobile Team will also be doing sampling with the crowd, while goody bags including a GAME PSN voucher will be handed out.

The person at the front of the queue will receive one year’s supply of Vita games for free.

"As the official launch partner, we’ve been leading the way by giving gamers the chance to sample the console across 600 GAME and Gamestation stores and the excitement built around the PlayStation Vita launch shows that handheld gaming is as popular as ever," said GAME marketing boss Anna-Marie Mason.

"With both our flagship stores opening at midnight to celebrate the launch of PlayStation Vita, we’re getting set for a fantastic night of gaming and we’re looking forward to giving customers the earliest chance possible to buy their own PlayStation Vita.”
