Vivendi enjoys sales jump

Vivendi has issued its financial report for the first half of the year – and the sales growth of the company’s games division is outstripping that of the overall company.

In total, Vivendi enjoyed revenue growth of little more than 6 per cent for the six month period up to June SMEE, whilst its dedicated games department’s results soared, generating €5 million in reveue – 68.9 per cent up on the previous year.

The firm credited the growth to the increasing popularity of its World Of Warcraft series, which recently surpassed nine million subscribers worldwide.

Other than Vivendi Games, Vivendi also encompasses the Universal Music Group, Canal+ and telecommunications firms SFR and Maroc Telecom.
