The growth of Windows 10 continues with the operating system now installed on more than 200m devices.
The milestone was revealed by a statement from Yusuf Mehdi, corporate VP for Microsoft’s Windows and Devices group, in which he added that users spent over 11bn hours using Windows 10 during December – the highest engagement for a Windows OS to date.
Of these 11bn hours, 4bn were spent playing PC games, while more than 6.6m hours of Xbox One games have been streamed to WIndows 10 PCs.
Much of this growth has been recent, with more than 40 per cent of new Windows 10 devices becoming active since Black Friday.
Mehdi added that Windows 10 “continues to be on the fastest growth trajectory of any version of Windows ever”.
