WoW Cataclysm special edition revealed

Blizzard has announced a World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Collector’s Edition which will be exclusive to High Street stores.

The special edition will come bundled with a 176-page art book, behind-the-scenes DVD, 10-song CD soundtrack, mouse pad, a Lil’ Deathwing in-game pet and a range of World of Warcraft trading cards.

Buyers will receive a 60-card starter deck from the Wrathgate series, two extended-art cards and two hero cards exclusive to the Collector’s Edition.

Cataclysm is the latest expansion pack for World of Warcraft. It adds a higher level cap of 85, recreated environments and two new playable races – Worgens and Goblins. Previous expansions include The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King.

World of Warcraft was originally released on PC in 2005 and has gone on to become the world’s No.1 subscription-based MMO, with a high of 11.5m users worldwide.

The Cataclysm bundle has an RRP of $79.99 (around 50), with the standard edition listed at 24.99 on PC and Mac by online retailers Amazon and Play.com. A release date is yet to be confirmed.
