WWE 2K16 will let you wrestle The Terminator

It’s Hogan out, Arnie in, as the film star’s iconic murder-machine The Terminator joins the roster of wrestling game WWE 2K16.

Mere days after Hulk Hogan’s eradication from the WWE, including removal from its Hall of Fame, various television hosting duties and his place in upcoming game WWE 2K16, after his much-discussed racial outburst, publisher 2K has announced that those who pre-order will be able to play as Arnold Schwarzenegger’scareer-defining robot, The Terminator.

It’s a somewhat ironic addition, given that said robot’s task in James Cameron’s 1984 film is to travel back in time and erase Sarah Connor from history – not unlike Hogan’s swift disappearance from the entirety of the WWE’s media presence.

Of course, Arnie returned to cinema screens as the T-800 in this year’s Terminator: Genisys. However, franchise fans who were perhaps not as taken with that film can breathe a sigh of relief – the two playable T-800s in WWE 2K16 will be based on the widely-acclaimed first two entries in the series, The Terminator and 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

To announce Arnie’s addition, 2K released a trailer mimicking his arrival in the past scene from Terminator 2. You know – the ‘I need your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle’ one.
