Xbox 360 tops 66m console sales

Microsoft has announced that more than 66 million Xbox 360 consoles have been sold worldwide to date.

The format holder revealed the console’s latest sales milestone during this week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

It also announced that there are now more than 40 million Xbox Live members around the world.

Earlier this week, Microsoft released sales figures for its Kinect motion controller, which has shifted 18m unitsglobally.

The announcement is further proof that Xbox 360 is in no danger of losing momentum. The console sold 800,000 units in the US on Black Friday alone.
