But exec will continue working at Microsoft's US HQ

Xbox Japan GM resigns

The GM of Xbox Japan Takashi Sensui will resign from his post at the end of the month.

Famtisu reports that Sensui will still continue working for Microsoft at its US HQ in Redmond however. The exec had led the Xbox business in Japan since 2006. No reasons were given for the sudden departure.

Following his resignation, consumer and partner group GM Yoshinami Takahashi and consumer and partner group retail business GM Nobuyoshi Yokoi have been charged with leading the division.

During the Xbox One’s first week on sale in Japan the console sold just over 23,500 units, and only managed to increase this to around 30,000 by the end of the first month.

To date, Microsoft has sold nearly ten million Xbox One’s into retail worldwide. Sales were recently boosted by price cuts and new game releases.
