XCOM reboot delayed

Take-Two has confirmed its sci-fi shooter XCOM will not be released in March 2012.

Instead, the reboot of the classic 2K series will land during the publisher’s next financial year: between April 1st 2012 and March 2013.

The delays was announced during Take-Two’s quarterly financial report, according to Eurogamer. The publisher reported increased losses and a drop in revenues for the three months ended September 30th.

No reason was given for the delay, though speculation suggests it may have been to avoid clashes with EA and BioWare’s Mass Effect 3, which arrives on March 9th.
