Radiohead release experimental smartphone game

UK despair specialists Radiohead have released what is described as an experimental mobile game” on iOS and Android.

CVG reports that the game, called PolyFauna was made in collaboration with UK design firm Universal Everything and sees players traversing a succession of abstract environments.

Player creations from within the game are shared via Radiohead’s website.

PolyFauna is born out of The King of Limbs sessions and using the imagery and the sounds from the song Bloom,” Thom Yorke said on the band’s website. It comes from an interest in early computer life-experiments and the imagined creatures of our subconscious.

Your screen is the window into an evolving world. Move around to look around. You can follow the red dot. You can wear headphones.”
