Game Informer

has got the scoop on the first concrete details about Insomniac’s PS3 FPS sequel Resistance 2, including the first real image of the game (see above).

The first game’s multiplayer was widely hailed as a massive success, but this second outing vows to up the stakes considerably with 60 player online multiplayer battles and eight player co-op – both a first for console shooters.

The game is also said to boast two separate campaigns – with rumours suggesting that one will be single player and the other multiplayer.

No release date has yet been announced, but expect something to appear by the end of the year.
