Rise of the Tomb Raider coming to Xbox One AND Xbox 360

Square Enix’s Rise of the Tomb Raider will be released not only on Xbox One but also on Xbox 360.

The confirmation comes from Xbox boss Phil Spencer, who confirmed the formats to Eurogamer.

Why Spencer couldn’t confirm the news on stage yesterday, or in subsequent interviews, remains unclear.

And we’re still none the wiser about how long the games will be Xbox-only.

A statement from developer Crystal Dynamics appeared to suggest the games would be Xbox-only for life, but Spencer’s previous refusal to commit to anything other than "in Holiday 2015, Rise of the Tomb Raider will be exclusive to Xbox” seemingly leaves the door wide open to an eventual PS4, PS3 and PC release.

Maybe.

When the world will be blessed with the facts of the situation remains to be seen.
