Rockstar Games reveals new digital storefront, Rockstar Games Launcher

Following in the footsteps of several other publishers that have similarily released their own launchers, such as Electronic Arts and Bethesda, Rockstar has launched its own digital store: Rockstar Games Launcher.

Available only for Window PCs right now, the free Rockstar Games Launcher gives players “easy access” to Rockstar Games’ PC titles, as well as additional features such as cloud saves and automatic updates.

Games currently available include Bully: Scholarship Edition, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Vice City, and V, LA Noire, and Max Payne 3, as well as their accompanying DLC, too. At the time of writing, all games are reportedly on sale for their recommended retail pricing.

Early adopters that install the Rockstar Games Launcher during an unspecified “limited time” will also receive a free copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on PC which Rockstar says will be “permanently” available in your Social Club account’s library.

Rockstar has declined to confirm if this will affect the availability of its titles on other PC stores, such as Valve’s Steam.

Rockstar was in the news for other reasons recently when a new report by investigative think tank TaxWatch UK alleged Grand Theft Auto V developer, Rockstar North – which is thought to have generated around £4 billion in operating profit between 2013 and 2019 – has not paid UK corporation tax in the last ten years. The allegations also accuse the company of claiming more than £42 million in tax relief during that time – allegedly 19 per cent of the total tax relief paid to the entire UK video game industry since 2014.
