Rory McIlroy PGA Tour special edition includes an EA Sports umbrella

In what may be a first, UK retailer GAME is offering a golf umbrella with a special edition of upcoming Rory McIlroy PGA Tour.

Usually occupied by the offer of digital add-on content or a steelbook game case, there have been some pretty strange physical pre-order bonuses in the past, from the mundane – Donkey Kong Country Returns’ banana-shaped pencil case – to the extreme, such as Dead Island Riptide’s bust of a bloodied and dismembered woman.

While GAME’s latest SKU may be solidly placed in the former category, it’s sure to raise some eyebrows nonetheless.

The next instalment in the recently re-named Rory McIlroy PGA Tour series will be available with a fetching EA Sports-branded umbrella.

As well as the EA Sports logo, the blue-and-white accessory also proudly displays the studio’s motto – ‘It’s in the game’ – leading us to question the missed opportunity of adapting it to ‘It’s in the rain’.

Somewhat charmingly, the umbrella is also listed on the title’s webpage under ‘Special Features’.

The GAME-exclusive bundle rings in at 3 more than the standard edition of the game, but it’s arguably a small price to pay for the hours of conversation the umbrella is sure to spark at dinner parties and on the green.
