Runescape getting Hearthstone-like card game

Jagex has announced a new Runescape spin-off called Chronicle: Runescape Legends.

The inspiration garnered from Blizzard’s World of Warcraft spin-off Hearthstone is clear to see. Action takes place in the pages of what is described as a living book”, with the pictured virtual game board and pieces offering at least some differentiation from Blizzard’s title.

PvP will be offered alongside the computer AI elements.

"We’ve been quietly developing Chronicle: Runescape Legends since the start of the year to ensure that it’s not only a fun and compelling player experience, but one still very much interwoven into the rich lore of Runescape," lead designer James Sweatman said.

Chronicle: Runescape Legends is due out on PC, Mac, smartphones and tablets in 2015.
