Shadowrun: Hong Kong smashes Kickstarter goals

The new game from Shadowrun: Returns developer Hairbrained Schemes has smashed its crowdfunding goal within hours of going live.

The studio was asking for $100k to make Shadowrun: Hong Kong. It hit that goal in just two hours and received backing of over $250k within the first 24 hours. The game currently stands at over $345k.

Stretch goals go all the way up to $700k so there’s a way to go yet before the studio fulfils all of its ambitions for the title.

The game is being made for PC and Mac as the studio has, in its own words, elected to focus all our efforts on PC in order to deliver the best game we can without the current processing and memory limitations of tablets”.

It adds that the title is already several months into development.

Hairbrained is used to crowdfunding success – Shadowrun: Returns raised over $1.8m on Kickstarter.
