ShopTo kicks off brand campaign

Online indie retailer ShopTo.net is hoping to make a big name for itself with its latest brand awareness campaign.

The firm booked ads on pitch-side boards during England’s 2-1 victory over Denmark earlier this month, attracting 7m viewers. The ads displayed the ShopTo logo, branding and 3DS imagery to drive pre-orders for the handheld console which arrives on March 25th.

Each 30-second ad ran twice in each half and was shown on all the electronic pitch-side boards as part of a takeover at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen.

The advertising is part of a wider campaign to raise awareness of ShopTo in 2011 and further solidify our role as a major internet video games retailer,” ShopTo marketing manager Phil Driver told MCV.

We are delighted by the response we have had from customers and publishers and will be looking at further football advertising opportunities in the future.

We are also working with games publishers to deliver further high impact campaigns in conjunction with their major releases.”

Back in November, ShopTo ran its first ever TV advertisements as part of a partnership with Ubisoft to help market its smash hit Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.
