Splinter Cell 360-only until further notice

Developer Ubisoft has reportedly confirmed that its Splinter Cell series has once again become an Xbox-only franchise, silencing rumours of a possible multiplatform future for Sam Fisher.

The upcoming Splinter Cell: Conviction has been known to be an Xbox 360 exclusive for quite some time, but it appears now that future instalments will also not be appearing on PlayStation or Nintendo platforms.

Until further notice the franchise is staying on Xbox 360,” the CEO of Ubisoft Toronto and Ubisoft Montreal told GamingUnion, as spotted by VG247.

However, I’m only the one making the games, you should talk to the people in Paris.”

The original Splinter Cell debuted on Xbox and remained exclusive on Microsoft’s platform for quite some time before eventually making the move onto Sony’s and Nintendo’s platforms.
