Square Enix brings classic JRPG Dragon Quest II to iOS, Android

A mobile port of 1987 JRPG release Dragon Quest II is available now on iOS and Android platforms.

The game—priced at $4.99 on both Google Play and Apple App stores—is noted for introducing several staples of the JRPG genre, including the mechanic of multiple party members battling against groups of enemies.

The arrival follows the original Dragon Quest’s mobile debut last month—Dragon Quest IV and VIII are already available for mobile devices as well.

Square Enix is currently developing a port for Dragon Quest 3 as its next mobile release, and also prepping Dragon Quest Heroes, for launch on PlayStation platforms in Japan sometime next year.
