SQUARE ENIX: Project Setsuna is a brand new RPG from a brand new studio

The creator of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts has announced a completely new RPG franchise.

"We are devoted to keep creating incredible new RPG titles," said Square Enix Holdings presidentYosuke Matsuda, introducing Project Setsuna.

The game is said specifically to be a ‘console RPG’.

"It’s not a spin-off or a remake, but a completely new series," Matsuda added.

It’s also being developed by a similarly newly-established studio, called Tokyo RPG Factory.

Metsuda said that, true to its name, the outlet would focus on traditional Japanese RPG experiences.

Although the game only appeared in the form of a name and concept art, and was said to be currently under development, Metsuda told the crowd that Setsuna was outlined for a 2016 release.
