Square Enix pulls The World Ends With You from iOS App Store

RPG title The World Ends With You: Solo Remix has been withdrawn from the Apple App Store.

The smartphone title was released on iOS in August 2012 but users discovered in September last year that it was not compatible with the operating system’s latest update, iOS 8.

The game, however, stayed on sale. A warning was belatedly added to the game’s store listing, along with the promise that the issue was being currently investigated” and a request for patience.

Upon examining the impact of recent iOS updates to the title, we determined that the affected areas were greater than originally assumed,” the publisher told Polygon. We were working to address this matter, however, the title has been regrettably pulled from the Store.

Square Enix is actively working with all related parties to make available the software update; however at this time, we are unable to communicate a clear and adequate timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to determine a solution.”

The World Ends With You was first released on DS back in 2007. An Android port was released last summer.
