Square Enix quashes FF Versus XIII cancellation rumours

Final Fantasy Versus XIII has not been cancelled, according to the boss of Square Enix.

CEO Yoichi Wada has taken to Twitter to say: I’ve seen rumours that FFVXIII has been cancelled. The rumours aren’t true. I’ve actually been in a recent presentation about the game and I’ve seen it.”

Last week Kotaku claimed to have word from several sources” that the game had been scrapped after a failed attempt to integrate the work done on it so far into another titles.

It added that Square was not announcing the cancellation of the game – which has been in development for six years – for fear of denting its share price.
