Star Wars: Commander invades iOS

LucasArts has released a new Clash of Clans-inspired Star Wars game in iPhone and iPad.

Star Wars: Commander is unsurprisingly free-to-play but comes with some pretty hefty IAP options, including a 69.99 14,000 crystal pack. IAPs start at 2.99 for 500 crystals.

The listing specifies: "Before you download this experience, please consider that this app contains social media links to connect with others, in-app purchases that cost real money, push notifications to let you know when we have exciting updates like new content, as well as advertising for The Walt Disney Family of Companies and some third parties."

Gameplay sees players building their own bases and then descending on the bases of others.

However, in place of barbarians and catapults we have AT-ATs, TIE Fighters and assorted other Star Wars themed icons – all set, interestingly, during the events of the Episode IV-VI era.
