State of Decay sells 2m copies

Undead Labs has announced its zombie survival game State of Decay has sold 2m copies across Xbox 360 and Windows PC platforms.

In a post on the Undead Lab’s site, the company’s community manager Sanya Weathers waxed on how the milestone was achieved with no marketing and no advertising.

"Two million copies of the original State of Decay have been sold, between Steam and XBLA. We’re not even talking about DLC, here," Weathers said.

"There just aren’t the right words to tell you how much this means to us. No marketing, no advertising, just you playing and streaming and spreading the word. You made this happen, and if we could individually thank each person who hit that download button, we would. Your enthusiasm and support have been everything."

State of Decay Year One Survival Edition – which packs the base game along with its two DLC releases as well as introduces new gameplay features – is due out on Xbox One in early 2015.
