Steam hits Mac tomorrow

Valve has confirmed that tomorrow will finally see the long-awaited arrival of Steam on the Mac platform.

Amongst the first releases will be popular gravity-bending action puzzle outing Portal. It’s the first example of a title built using Valve’s Source engine running on the OSX operating system.

Other games set for launch include the critically applauded Torchlight.

Titles released on the platform support Steam Play, allowing customers who purchase them to play them on any Steam-supported platform. If said titles have previously been purchased on PC they will also be playable on Mac.

Also available for Mac users will be the Steamworks publishing and development suite.
