Swery: Deadly Premonition had no "economic success"

Deadly Premonition creator Hidetaka Suehiro, better known as Swery 65, admits the cult classic has never been financially successful.

"So far there’s no economic success from this game," said Suehiro in an interview with Polygon.

"What we develop for the next title depends on what kind of chance we get. There are a lot of games I want to develop, but I need to be given a chance. That’s the first step."

Suehiro added that he’s pinned those hopes to the upcoming launch of Deadly Premonition Director’s Cut.

"I’m hoping that The Director’s Cut will give me another chance at success, and another chance to create a new game or maybe a sequel."

The extended edition is set to release on PS3 April 19th in Europe, and April 30th in North America.
