SyFy commissions Defiance for second series

Cross-media games and TV project Defiance will return for a second series.

TV channel SyFy has already put pen to paper after the strong start enjoyed by the ongoing first series which broke records upon its recent debut. The second series will begin production in August 2014.

"Bringing the rich world of Defiance to life has been in incredible team effort,” SyFy’s president of original content Kevin Murphy stated. We couldn’t ask for better partners than Kevin Murphy, his amazing cast and crew, and Trion Worlds.

"We can’t wait to see where they take us in the second season."

Trion Worlds has also confirmed that Defiance the game will receive five pieces of DLC throughout 2013. The first of these will introduce the Castithan species along with a new story mission and a Battle Arena game mode. It will cost $10 to download.
