System Shock Enhanced Edition dev working on modern remake

Night Dive Studios – a small studio known for restoring classic PC releases for modern computers – has revealed it’s developing a full-blown remake of the original System Shock.

Speaking withFast Company, Night Dive’s founder and CEO Stephen Kick stated he is actively working with the 1994 release’s concept artist Robert Waters to create a modern re-imagining of the title.

The studio already has an established relationship with Looking Glass Technologies’ notable series, having purchased rights to the franchise, and developing updated releases of theoriginal System Shockearlier this year as well as System Shock 2 in 2013.

No release window was mentioned, but the team hopes to release the remake on multiple platforms. Night Dive is also considering a third System Shock game, though Waters made it clear the project isn’t currently a priority.
