Tanya Byron to speak at ELSPA forum

TV psychologist Dr Tanya Byron, author of the government’s recently announced Byron Report which will examine the availability of violent video games, is set to speak at the upcoming ELSPA Forum as part of the London Games Festival.

Byron will discuss why the government called for the review, and the reasons for her involvement.

Of the review Byron has previously stated: Parents welcome the benefits technologies can bring but they also want their children to be safe and many have concerns about what their children may come across online or whether the videogames they are using are appropriate.”

The forum will also address the rise of negative publicity that some say has shrouded the games industry in recent times.

The event will take place at The Royal Society of Medicine, London, on October 22nd and will start at 11:30am.
