Team Icos PS3 remakes confirmed

Weekly Japanese games mag Famitsu has got the first official details on one of Sony’s worst kept secrets – the HD remakes of PS2 classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.

Andriasang reports that Famitsu actually carries boxart for each game, suggesting that Team Ico’s cult hits will not in fact be sold as a single SKU.

Of course, it’s perfectly possible that the pair may be packaged individually but still be sold as a bundle. There’s also a good chance that what’s good for Japan is not seen as being best for the West – seeing as both games struggled to sell outside of their homeland a European bundle is a strong possibility.

There’s no word yet on a release date for the pair, but don’t be surprised to see some more solid news emerging from the Tokyo Game Show over the next couple of days.

Earlier this week US retailer Walmart suggested an April 2011 release, as well as a budget price of just 24.99.
