Team ROCCAT partners with sports marketers Lagardère

Team ROCCAT has announced an exclusive partnership with German sports marketing company, Lagardère.

Lagardère will support Team ROCCAT on ‘optimised marketing strategies’ and the ‘expansion of the team’s structure’ with the aim to work towards greater professionalism within the eSports scene. Lagardère already has a number of significant names from the wider world of sport in their portfolio, including AS Monaco, Borussia Dortmund and West Ham United. Partnering with Team ROCCAT is part of their move into the realm of eSports.

“We are very happy to announce the second partnership with a LCS team only a few weeks after our entry in the eSports market,” said Robert Müller von Vultejus, managing director at Lagadère Sports Germany. “The cult of ROCCAT in the gaming world is unique. The close relationship between fans and Team ROCCAT as well as the company ROCCAT offers numerous possibilities and new approaches to activate sponsorings.”

René Korte, founder and CEO of ROCCAT added: “Here at ROCCAT we live eSports. Therefore, we have realized very early that this is the growth market in gaming with more to come in the future. The evolution so far has proven, that we are right. To make full use of the chances and potentials of the eSports market we are going to cooperate with Lagadère, to aggressively push not only our own but also the growth of the whole scene.”

Team ROCCAT was founded in 2007 and is currently most active in League of Legends, but has also competed in Counter-Strike and StarCraft II tournaments in the past. It now exists as a subsidiary of the company’s gaming product and peripheral manufacturer, ROCCAT Studios.
