Ted producer on-board for Gears of War movie

The man behind Ted, Battleship and, erm, You, Me and Dupree, is working on the Gears of War movie.

According to Variety, Scott Stuber has been tasked with producing the film and to begin developing a script with franchise creator, Epic Games.

The project doesn’t yet have a writer, star or even a distributor. But Universal has a first look deal.

The Gears of War movie has been in the works since 2007, and was being worked on by New Line. But there were ‘creative differences’ between the studio and Epic Games. It’s been looking for a home ever since.
