Telltale turns to DC’s Fables series for next episodic release

The fantasy world of DC’s Fables comics series will provide the basis for the next set of episodic games from Telltale.

The studio has, as if you needed reminding, recently enjoyed tremendous success with its five-part episodic gaming series based on The Walking Dead IP.

Its new series will be called The Wolf Among Us, which will act as a prequel to the DC comics that sees fairytale characters uprooted from their traditional settings and placed in New York. Users will play as detective Bigby Wolf who is tasked with protecting said characters.

The decisions made by players will once again have a huge bearing on the narrative although a greater emphasis will be placed on the distinction between good and evil choices a la Mass Effect.

The Wolf Among Us is due out on PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Mac this summer. A second series (sorry, ‘season’) of The Walking Dead is due out a bit later in the autumn.
