TGS: Mario & Sonic will sell 4m, says Sega

Sega Sammy’s corporate director has told Tokyo Games Show that the firm expects Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games to sell four million units when it goes on sale later this year.

According to

Bloomberg

, Masanao Maeda did not give a specific timeframe for the prediction.

The forecast is equivalent to almost 20 percent of the games Sega Sammy sold in the year ended March 31st.

If the title were to reach the sales figure, it would equal the performance of the first ever Sonic The Hedgehog console title. Sonic’s 1991 debut sold four million units, according to the company’s website.
