The end arrives for Hudson Soft

Hudson Soft, one of the big-hitters in the early days of video gaming, will pass away on March 1st.

It will be absorbed into owning company Konami, which acquired the firm in April 2011, and will effectively disappear from the industry forever.

Hudson was behind classic IP such as Bomberman, Bonk, Wonder Boy, Star Soldier, Adventure Island, Mario Party and XBLA title Omega Five.

The actual blood and guts of the firm will likely be used as a basis for the production of mobile content for Konami. The publisher has previously indicated that it intends to centralise its social and mobile operations into a single office at some stage in the near future, Andriasang reports.
