The shocking Pokemon announcement is Tekken team’s arcade fighter Pokken

Bandai Namco’s Tekken team is developing a Pokemon-themed fighting game.

It’s called Pokken and it due for release in Japanese arcades next year. There’s so far no hint that the game will either make it to the West or onto Nintendo’s Wii U or 3DS.

The game looks very much as you would expect – a 3D affair that resembles Tekken but features characters from Nintendo’s RPG series

The Pokemon last week said that a ‘shocking’ announcement would arrive today, so presumably this is it.
