The UK’s Best New Indie Retailers: JD Games

As our Indie Retail Month in association with Gem continues, the last entry in our look at UK’s best new indies is Welsh store JD Games.

Co-owner Dafydd Davies tells MCV about how the new shop is growing every day

JD Games in Llanelli, Wales only opened in December 2012 but selling pre-owned games alongside Games Workshop products has helped the store get off the ground successfully.

It’s come a long way in a short time and it’s growing more and more every day,” says store co- owner Daffyd Davies.

The biggest challenge starting up was getting hold of the right suppliers, getting information was hard. I found some of them through the MCV directory on the website. That helped a lot, but being new and quite young, most people don’t trust you at first.”

JD Games is now looking to expand into accessories and merchandise and at some stage in the future hopes to open up a second store.
